Address Book and Calendar Data,  On All Your Apple Devices

With the arrival of  “OS/X Mavericks” and the removal of “SyncServices” from it.   The move to keeping your data in the  “iCloud” is well on the way to being complete.

From the point of view of keeping all of your data up to date and always available in a place where wifi and mobile commotion is prolific, this looks like a very good idea.

Though this may not seem as idillic if, wifi and mobil communications are not as available as we would like.  Also we have to accept that our data will be on some others hardware.   There may also be other reasons as to why you man not want or are not allowed to use “Cloud” services.

The Questions:

Do you want to use the “Cloud”?

Are the services available today going to be available tomorrow?

Are the services like wifi, internet and mobile you need to use the “Cloud” reliable/available in your locations?

My Answers:

I think the “Cloud” is a good thing but I am not ready to commit to it.

Services historically have come and gone a case in point being Apples MobileMe.

I travel and often find I do not have internet access for one reason or another.

So for me I would still like the option of keeping my data Local and this is what the next pages are all about.
